Living Material’s efforts are focused on elucidating the fundamental process-structure-property relationships of the new biological building materials they create. Additionally, they pursue computational studies on embodied carbon and carbon storage, employing product and whole-building life cycle assessments.
The logo was designed to reflect the multidisciplinary approach to fostering innovation. Using a kaleidoscope and its changing colors and shapes highlights the evolution that different lab members’ perspectives bring to the shared goal of solving the environmental issues facing our planet.
